Bill Bolling is the Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor. He is running for re-election, having  won his first term in 2005.
Bolling formerly served in the Virginia Senate, to which he was elected in 2005.  He represented the 4th District, primarily located in Hanover County.

Bob McDonnell is the Republican candidate for Governor. He was elected as Attorney General of Virginia in 2005, a position he gave up in February 2009.
McDonnell formerly served in the House of Delegates, having been elected in 1991. He represented the 84th District in Virginia Beach.
He and wife, Maureen, have 5 children, ages 17-27.
