Creigh Deeds is the Democratic candidate for governor. He is currently a State Senator, representing the 25th District, which covers Albemarle County (part), Alleghany County, Bath County, Buckingham County (part); Buena Vista City, Charlottesville City, Covington City, Nelson County, and Rockbridge County (part). Bob McDonnell is the Republican candidate for Governor. He was elected as Attorney General of Virginia in 2005, a position he gave up in February 2009.
McDonnell formerly served in the House of Delegates, having been elected in 1991. He represented the 84th District in Virginia Beach.
He and wife, Maureen, have 5 children, ages 17-27.
